the_rckLunarGeography has started showing Serial Experiment Lain to me and Scott. She says she hopes that we'll be able to tell her what's going on in it. Having seen the first two episodes, I doubt that we'll be able to enlighten her at all even once we've seen everything. I'm just glad that I won't be bothered by the weirdness. I don't feel any particular obligation to understand what's going on, so I expect I won't be irritated if I can't formulate a theory I like.
Scott missed taping last Tuesday's Buffy episode, so we had to borrow it from Paul E. We watched it on Sunday. I'd been too tired or too busy with other things to do it previously. Also, given that LunarGeography's been following this season, I thought it only fair to wait until she was around to watch it. We had to wait until the unseasonable thunderstorm had passed, however. That actually took our power down for a couple of seconds at one point. I went to the basement for candles just in case, but we didn't end up needing them.
