the_rckWednesday, Scott injured himself. Some time between when he woke up and when he left for work, a muscle in his back spasmed (I find myself wishing it had happened at work because then they'd be responsible for it. Of course, past experience suggests that Scott wouldn't want to bother anyone by telling them about it...). He suffered through the work day and managed to survive in spite of having been assigned to pull carts. He just kept falling behind and so didn't get lunch or either break.
I insisted that he go to the doctor on his way home, and they gave him a prescription for flexeril and a note saying that he was to take it easy physically for the next week. He called in sick on Thursday and pretty much stayed drugged out all day. I helped him to alternate ice and heat on the muscle, and by the end of the day he could lift his left arm a bit further and turn his head a little more. Friday, he went back to work and waved the note at them, and they put him on phones for the day. Answering phones is not something that anyone in his job normally does and definitely isn't something he enjoys doing.
