Nov. 30th, 2002 06:24 pmI got my hair trimmed on Tuesday. It was more of a big deal than I expected. I normally go to Super Cuts on central campus, but I haven't been out that way any time recently, at least not when they were open. This time, however, I went to the Fantastic Sam's where Scott normally gets his hair trimmed. The woman who did my hair had not, I think, previously worked on someone with quite as much hair as I've got. She took me over to a sink and proceeded to soak my hair entirely and also, just incidentally, sprayed water over me. If I hadn't already had the plastic apron on, I'd have gotten utterly soaked. Super Cuts usually just uses the spray bottle so that my hair ends up being a little damp. That's all that's required to kill the static. This time, however, my hair took hours to dry.
I had them take about three inches off to even things out and get rid of the split ends. The woman doing it kept checking to make sure I knew how much three inches actually is. I pointed out that, with hair as long as mine, three inches is really not much. So now I can actually brush out all the tangles and have them stay gone. I've been meaning to get the trim for a couple of months, so it's something of a relief to have it out of the way.
