Jan. 16th, 2003 03:29 pmI finally got my Saturday Amber game restarted on the 4th. Alessar wasn't able to make that session (and has since made the decision to bow out due to various life circumstances), so I ran with Rain and LunarGeography. I'll be running again this Saturday, but I should have at least one and possibly three new players. Rain's current roommate and one of Rain's friends are interested, and Scott has talked about making up a character. We'll see how all of that goes. I very much hope that I can get the campaign going because I'd only barely gotten it started when I put it on hiatus last summer. I've been finding the surreal elements fascinating.
Alessar has also decided not to try to restart his Viva Lost Vegas! campaign. I regret that because I had a lot of fun with it, thought I still had places to take my character and was enjoying the world Alessar'd created. I can understand his reasoning, though. It's been a long hiatus, and he's wanting to pursue other projects. We'd reached a reasonable break point-- While there are still a lot of major unanswered questions, we'd finished a major plot arc and settled our characters into reasonably secure positions (at least until the sequel...). As he said, it's better to stop at a stopping point.
I've decided that I can't really commit to joining any new campaigns between now and when the baby's born. I expect that I'll need to scale back what I'm already involved in at that point, and I'd rather not make the winnowing process any more painful. I plan to keep up with my current commitments for as long as I can do so without strain (My Wednesday Amber game will likely be ending in May anyway since two of the three players are talking about moving away then, and all the other games take place here in my home). At this point, with the official demise of Alessar's campaign, everything I'm involved with either I GM or my husband does.
