Saturday went pretty much as usual. Scott's GURPS Traveller game ran with three of the four usual players and a guest, LunarGeography. (We were short one player because Paul E.'s mother-in-law ended up in the ER that afternoon. I don't know how that turned out or what exactly was wrong, but I'm hoping it was nothing serious.) Scott yanked our characters and shoved them into the Buffy universe with LunarGeography playing Buffy. LunarGeography cast us and pushed us into roles across type, at least from our Traveller characters. I played Anya while Matt Q. was Willow and Jeannette was Giles. If Paul'd been there, he'd have done Xander (although I think it'd have been funnier to see him as Spike...).

We decided that, since Paul hadn't been there, we wouldn't tell him what happened. The whole plot justification involved a mystic artifact that caused body switching across dimensions. We plan to play the Buffy characters in our Traveller characters' bodies next session without warning Paul of the change. We want to see how he deals with it, see whether or not we can surprise him and how long it takes him to figure things out.

My White Wolf game moved forward a small amount. One of the players wasn't there, and I was pretty tired. I threw in a couple of bits and pieces that should prove interesting eventually, but I'm still groping for a sort of unifying theme. The group's time traveled to 1934 Italy and has been hired by locals to (a) break into the Vatican to steal a box with unspecified contents and (b) to figure out who's pulling Mussolini's strings and what they want. (Suggestions are welcome, but some of the players do read here, so e-mail's better.)
