May. 13th, 2003 04:42 pmThe last week has been difficult. I'm feeling more and more pregnant, and my levels of pain are going up. And I really am talking pain as opposed to discomfort. My feet have swollen to the point that it hurts to put weight on them, and even propping them up doesn't do a lot to drain them. (Yes, I am still working on putting plenty of water into the system. I'm not at all certain I can manage more than the 3+ liters I'm currently making myself drink.) Sleeping is becoming more and more something that I want to do and more and more something that I can't do due to pain in my hips and legs. I find that I don't get up and go to the bathroom so much because my bladder's full as because continuing to lie down hurts too much. I need the break before I try to sleep again.
I did get Scott to come to a PT appointment on Friday so that we could make sure we were doing that leg stretch right. Basically, Scott's height combined with the height of our bed makes the whole thing difficult for him; he has to bend at an awkward angle and then hold the weight of my leg for 30 seconds.
After that, we went shoe shopping, looking for something cheap that would fit over my swollen feet. We got a pair at Payless for $8. They're size 9 wide which is kind of mind boggling for me since I used to wear size 7. They are too long, but they're still not quite wide enough. Wearing them does help alleviate some of the pain in the soles of my feet, but it adds a new dimension to things by hurting my ankles. I don't think I can win on this one.
