Aug. 11th, 2003 10:40 pmSaturday, fortunately, was much calmer for Delia. Scott let me get some extra sleep, and then we cleaned the living room so that he could run his Traveller game. Matt and Jeannette showed up first, and we did a bit of baby orientation for them since they've offered to do some babysitting for us (a shower present). We put off some pieces of it since Delia didn't actually need a diaper change just then.
I enjoyed the game session quite a bit even though it was a bit awkward. We were playing characters from Buffy the Vampire Slayer who had been displaced into the bodies of our normal characters, and I was running Anya. I simply wasn't in the right frame of mind to do it. The fact that I slept through the last session we had, all those months ago, meant that I was also rather disoriented. Neither of those two conditions will be in force the next time we play, so I expect I'll have even more fun then.
Sunday was fairly peaceful. We all three went grocery shopping. I pushed Delia around in the stroller while Scott steered the cart. The excursion went pretty well except that I had to feed Delia before we went in (She's been eating a lot more often the last few days, so it's harder for me to guess how much time we'll have for these expeditions). I also think that we didn't fasten her carseat up quite right after we left Kroger because I noticed a bruise on the side of Delia's neck this morning. The only thing I can think of is that the strap was in the wrong position or that she was. I've never really liked the straps on the carseat (they're basically made of the same stiff stuff as normal seat belts), and I've been trying to figure out a reliable way of padding the bits that go over her shoulders. I used washcloths for a while, but other people convinced me that I was worrying too much. I think I'll go back to doing that. It's not like we don't have plenty of washcloths.
