Aug. 19th, 2003 02:20 pmI've now officially posted part 8 of "Rheotaxis." The changes from the draft version I originally posted aren't huge, but they're fairly important. Now I just need to get going on the first draft of part 11 and think about changes to part 9. I know I want to do some extensive revision to part 9 because there's a bit of subtle motivation that's important and not coming through-- It's difficult because what the character wants to do, what he thinks he's doing and what he's actually doing are tangled up and contradictory. Add to that the fact that almost all of part 9 is from someone else's point of view... Well.
At any rate, LunarGeography has part 9 right now. I'm hoping she'll have time to go through it and will have some concrete suggestions for addressing the problems. I may or may not use her suggestions, but even if I don't her words generally spark ideas of my own for resolving things.
Now I just have to read the stuff LunarGeography's given me for comment. I feel bad because I'm rather a lot less skilled at such things than she is. I really like her writing but can't seem to think about it clearly enough to find anything to say. Given that it's largely my fault that she's gotten into writing Weiss fics (and it'll be her fault if I write any Yami no Matsuei stuff), I definitely want to support her writing.
I just need some time when I don't have to be constantly giving at least half of my attention to Delia.
I did do a word count on the 8 completed chapters of "Rheotaxis." According to MSWord, I've 78,354 words. That definitely qualifies it as the longest thing I've ever written.
