the_rckAs usual, bits and pieces of last week were busy. Others were long, tedious and mind numbing. I need to work out some sort of balance.
Wednesday evening, Randall, a friend who's transitioning female to male, stopped in to visit. He was on his way back from a professional conference of some sort and wanted to see some of his friends from his undergraduate days. I'm not sure he managed to connect with anyone other than me, though, and I think he was afraid that that had more to do with the changes he's making in his life, with his body, than with bad luck or bad timing.
At any rate, he came over and hung out while Scott was off playing Star Wars. He admired Delia and talked about how he'd like to be a father some day if he can find the right partner. We talked about a lot of things, finding some odd common ground in comparing the hormonal fluctuations of pregnancy with the hormonal changes involved in his transition. We both agreed that hormones do a lot more to shape how people think, react and generally function than anybody's fully comfortable admitting.
