I've been trying to read Terry Pratchett's Going Postal for seven weeks now. I've bogged down about a third of the way in and haven't been able to get myself to go on. I haven't even touched the book for weeks. I'm not sure how much of it is the book and how much is my general inability to finish anything right now. I've started and not finished at least half a dozen books in the last few weeks. I've been trying to give my attention to writing and have ended up playing a lot of solitaire.

I've got a week left before Going Postal is due back at the library. I don't want to renew it a second time. I probably won't have much time for reading. The Weiss Kreuz reverse exchange story is due soon, and I haven't started writing yet. I'm reviewing canon and researching, but I haven't started yet. I have to make a decision about which point of view I'm going to write from and see if I can make it work. The story is supposed to be short, but I may switch points of view in the middle to go to a character with whom I'm more comfortable.

Aw, sorry to hear you haven't been able to get into it. There is a movie version that's quite good (two parts, so rather long to fit everything in) if that is more to your concentration level at the moment. But I understand if you want to just return it to the library and have done with it.

I'm not sure a movie would be better. My concentration is shot in general. I'll probably come back to the book later to give it another try. I want to like Pratchett.
