Sep. 22nd, 2004 10:05 amI'm working on rewriting an old LARP scenario for UCon. It's not going as well as I'd like because I don't have focused time to devote to it. Right now, I'm just trying to reread everything so that I can remember the details. I hate rereading old games; they always seem so... pathetically thin. This particular scenario is one that I wasn't happy with when I ran it for the first time, so I didn't have high expectations.
Scott's gone through it and made some notes. He could look at it fresh, without expectations. I don't know yet how useful his notes will be, but I think that being able to talk to him about the characters and their connections to each other will help a lot.
There's part of me that regrets agreeing to do a game at UCon, but... I really don't want to stop writing and running LARPs. I just grudge the time involved. I'd rather be working on "Rheotaxis." If I didn't have Delia, I could manage both, but... I wouldn't trade her for anything.

Date: 2004-09-29 12:55 pm (UTC)I find it worse going back to something old if it's been years since I last looked at it. In this case, I look at things and growl at myself for not researching details at the time, for leaving things out, for not spell checking...
I'm really, really hating this process.
