Dec. 4th, 2004 08:15 amWe spent the afternoon of Halloween visiting
missysedai and meeting a few other folks from LJ at least in passing. Delia loved
missysedai's house, particularly the mural in the dining room that had a cat and a cow and the carpeted stairs. She spent a lot of her time going up and down those stairs with me or Scott in close pursuit. At this remove, I remember far too little of the conversation that occurred, mainly just a general impression that I enjoyed myself.
Oh, and that bacon wrapped dates are very, very addictive. I'm trying to come up with an occasion to try making them myself, but I need guests. Maybe New Year's Eve.
We dressed Delia in the Star Trek onesie Scott bought in Las Vegas, back when we went there for my sister's wedding, the March before Delia was born. She was Star Fleet Captain Delia. It was large on her, but it fit better than the other costume we had, a full length Tigger outfit handed down from her older cousin. We put on tights under the onesie, and Delia seemed to be comfortably warm. Scott also bought Star Trek uniform shirts for himself and for me, but we ended up not wearing them this year.
We got home in time to hand out a little candy. I think we had about four groups of kids. Scott had forgotten that we were going to be out of town that afternoon and had bought quite a bit of candy. (We still have some because, while it's safe for me to eat, it's not something I actually like particularly. I keep forgetting it's there.) I thought about asking one of our neighbors to hand it out for us until we got back and then promptly forgot about it. Oh, well... I doubt that any neighborhood children were horribly deprived by our absence.
