Delia coming down with a cold right after UCon, combined with Thanksgiving to keep me from doing more than thinking about writing during that week. This week, I've gotten started on "Rheotaxis" again. It's slow going, but I'm going to make sure I write every day this month. I may not get chapter 14 done by the end of the year (my tentative goal), but I'm certainly going to make a good start on it. So far, I've managed about 300 words a day, except for Saturday when I was sick. That may not sound like much, but for three months, I had 0 words a day, so it's quite an improvement.

I'm going to post a daily word count for the rest of the month. A couple of people on my friends list have done that in the past for projects they're working on, and I get the impression that it's a reasonable way of keeping track. So far, I've been inserting word counts into the text of my document, just to keep myself honest, but that's kind of distracting.

It's good to have a target date set for a writing goal.

BTW, do you know why some streets, including S. Main (at Huron) and W. Liberty were blocked off in downtown Ann Arbor during the late morning/early afternoon? It seemed they were having a parade or walkathon or something. (I don't know Ann Arbor that well as I live in Livonia and only go to A2 a few times a year to shop at Wizzywig.)

According to arborweb.com, there was a children's Christmas parade at 12:30 on Main St. My guess is that that was responsible.
