I'm working on a couple of new knitting and crocheting projects. I was hoping that they'd all be crocheting projects, but some of the yarn is just too difficult for me to keep track of when I try to crochet with it. With knitting, it's easier because the stitches stay attached to something all the time. It's just that I knit a lot more slowly than I crochet and that it takes more mental focus and physical space.
My sister-in-law dropped a broad hint that her mother would like a scarf like the one my SIL had me do for her birthday. She also talked about how much her mother-in-law and sister-in-law like the ones I already made. Since both of those ladies are on our gift giving list (Christmas celebrations include my SIL's in-laws most years), I took the hint and made Scott take me to get yarn. Sadly, those are all going to have to be knit. I don't know if I can manage three scarves in the time I've got.
Once those are done, though, I'm going to need some new projects. I have a half completed afghan for Delia, but I can't work on it when she's up and around. It's too big and unwieldy. Since I still haven't mastered doing fancy patterns, mostly what I can make is scarves. (At least until, someday in the distant future, I have time to work at mastering circles and squares. It could happen.) But there's a limit to how many of the dratted things I can use. I have one. Scott has one (which he doesn't use). I've given them to all of the relatives who I think might actually use them. Well, not my father-in-law... That's an idea.
Well, watch this spot. I may at some point make an open offer of scarves. Or I may not. It depends on how life goes next year (and on whether or not I think I can afford the yarn).
