I think the first draft of chapter 14 is done. It feels too short, though, even though the events I wanted in there are covered. There is one more thing I could stick in, but it doesn't strictly belong there, so I hesitate. Not that it *doesn't* belong there, exactly... It's just that it's something that happens to yet another character that has to be told from yet another point of view. I could just as easily stick it at the beginning of the next chapter or even simply imply that it happened without giving details (I think the latter would be cheating, though, that my readers will want to see it).

I decided not to do any further writing last night while I thought about it. I still haven't reached any firm conclusions, so I'm going to start in on the next scene tonight and decide later what chapter it belongs to.

I'm hoping to get it up this week. RL has been causing an unusual array of problems for my beta readers, and I hit a huge (and unexpected snag) on one little part of the second draft. Right now, I'm just waiting to catch one of two people for a final read through to make sure I haven't missed something important. I don't know when either of them will be available, though, so I can't make any promises.

I just posted chapter 14. The final draft isn't fully beta'd, but I have no idea when it will be, so I don't see the point in delaying any longer. Besides, any changes I make after my betas do get back to me will likely be minor.

i read it 18hrs ago, at 6am, but then i had to rush off to school so i didnt have time to comment. lovely chapter that one it... ok, im biased, i generally prefer anything which gives Omi more screen time.

i certainly didnt anticipate aya-chan's role in rheotaxis though. i thought she was only gonna appear as a minor character. her pressence seems quite major in 14 though. 14 feels kind short, i dont mind though!

i wait so long for it to be out, i would be satisfied with nearly anything!

I'm glad you enjoyed the chapter. I didn't expect to put Aya-chan in there, but she insisted on checking up on her brother... And every other way I tried to write the aftermath of Ken and Ran getting hit with that emotional storm failed utterly.

I've started in on chapter 15 now. Hopefully, it won't take too long to finish. No absolute promises, though. Well, I'm betting I can manage to get it up in no more than six months even if disaster strikes.
