Last night, during my Amber game, I successfully crocheted a Delia-sized hat. I made it up as I went along, but I'm pretty sure I could replicate it. I'd need more yarn to make an adult hat. I should get back to JoAnn's and look for yarn for a matching scarf. I suspect that a matching set would go over well at the pre-school's fundraiser auction. I thought that I had two skeins of the yarn I used for the hat, but I can't find the second skein, so maybe I didn't buy one. (Or maybe I have a cache of lost yarn somewhere. There are two other orphan skeins that I thought had mates. I try to buy two skeins at a time unless I know with absolute certainty that one will be enough. I'd rather have two projects than one that's left half complete.)

I'm almost at 4500 words on the first draft of my Shamethon fic. I've added nothing to it for days because life has simply been too much. I've been tired and headachy and over-stressed (and over reacting to stress). I'm going to try to stay up tonight to finish the first draft.

If Scott goes to bed early enough, he can get up with Delia tomorrow and let me sleep in. If he can't manage it then I'll have to put off my late night until Monday (I have to get up early on Monday morning, so if I don't do it tonight or Monday, it's not going to happen, and the fic will probably have to be late).

In hopes of making the writing go more easily, I'm going to drag Delia out to the branch library and the grocery store for writing munchies. Going to the branch instead of downtown means losing a hold that's down there, but it's not something that I'll be heartbroken to have to wait a few more weeks on (I'll still have to go downtown-- or get Scott to go-- tomorrow to pick up the holds that will expire then). I need the writing munchies more than I need to read the first volume of Absolute Boyfriend.

With luck, we'll be able to do the general grocery shopping and have Scott pick us up on his way home from work. To that end, I'd better start packing up. We have half an hour before we need to leave, and it's going to take that long to get me and Delia ready to go.

Absolute Boyfriend is not particularly good. And if you want, I can probably lend you a whole bunch of back issues of Shoujo Beat where is it serialized. I think I know where they all are...

Thanks for the offer, but I'll probably just reserve it again at some future date. I'm in no rush to read it (and wasn't even before hearing your opinion). Plus, I don't think Scott would forgive me for bringing a stack of magazines into the house. At least library books have due dates, and I get series one volume at a time. ::grins::
