We have a temporary fix for the laptop. It's not ideal-- the screen I'm now using puts vibrating threads of blue in a lot of places-- but it works. The screen isn't going to fall off. Scott and Matt are going to see if they can come up with any better solutions at a later date.

It turned out that Scott had ordered the wrong hinge. Matt came up with a dead laptop of the same make with a broken hinge on the opposite side that they cannibalized for parts. I have the screen from that (at least if I'm understanding correctly). Scott's planning to order the correct hinge. Next time they both have time to work on it, they'll test the other screen to see if it works better. If it does, they'll try to attach it.

I may not be online as much as usual this week. The glitches in the display are a little aggravating and may not make my eyes happy (I'm withholding judgment on it until I have a chance to look at it when I'm not already tired).

Still, I can connect. This is a Good Thing.

I am glad that it's at least semi-functional, I hope that soon (after some more of the technical fiddling) it is back to normal completely.
