Cordelia's still sick (so am I, to be honest, but I'm less so). The last three mornings, she's awakened with a fever, crying because she's in pain. This worries me. This afternoon, I'm going to call our pediatrician because I'm no longer willing to assume that improvement as it gets later in the day means improvement tomorrow. Last night, after all, Cordelia had no fever, hours after the morning ibuprofen had worn off. She was energetic and happy. This morning.... She was achy. She was too hot. The light was too bright. Her temperature was 102.9.
Thursday's a bad day for getting to the doctor. Scott won't be home until around five, possibly even later. I don't want to call on any of the other parents we know who are probably around because I'm worried about giving it to other kids. The bus offers even more chances of giving the illness to others and involves a couple of 5-15 minute periods out in the cold. I might be able to get Scott's parents to come down. Maybe.
First things first. Call the pediatrician. They may be able to reassure me without seeing her, especially if this is something that's going around.
