Our webserver has been down for a couple of weeks. Scott's trying to get it up again, but it's not being cooperative. He'd hoped to migrate everything to a different, slightly newer box, but that one seems to have died in the months it waited for him to have time to try it. The current webserver has been crashing a lot and needing to be manually restarted (which waits until one of us notices).

If you try to access my website and can't find it, please let me know. I'm not sure how much longer the current system will hold up or when we'll have money for the needed hardware. We still haven't decided what we need in the way of hardware. The fact that we're heading into the busiest season for Scott, work-wise, may mean that he doesn't have time even to think about it until November.

I'm not sure if I'll be updating the website until after we have the webserver situation resolved. I have stories I ought to be putting up, stories that I want to post. I just haven't had the mental spoons to deal with them, and I'm not sure that I should put the resources into updates that may end up effectively invisible.

I'm trying to think about options for a mirror site of some sort. I want to keep my site where it is, and I don't want to mess with hosting issues too much. I also don't want to have to try to format all my documents for a different site. Right now, I'm sort of considering using a DreamWidth journal for it as I have an unused invite code. I was planning to use that as another mirror for my LJ/IJ, but I could use it for this, I suppose. No matter what I do, it would likely be a lot of work. I just don't want my fics, my friends' fics and my recs to become inaccessible.

Any ideas?

We've currently got Mary's web domain running off of a subdirectory of my web account, with it's own FTP account and everything. I'd be happy to host yours for a while if you need an alternative to either a) getting the server set up or b) paying for webhosting.
