the_rckThere are two shows taking up a lot of room on our DVR-- We've kept every episode of Phineas and Ferb and every episode of Fetch with Ruff Ruffman. Every now and then, I think about getting rid of the Phineas and Ferb. Netflix has it all streaming, after all, and we're not planning to let our Netflix subscription lapse any time soon. I suppose we'll decide on that when we start to run out of room.
Fetch with Ruff Ruffman is something else again. We don't have any other access to it, and Delia still watches the recorded episodes. I regret that the show got canceled. It's really good. I think Delia was planning to force us to move to Boston so she could audition for it when she was old enough. The show has a cartoon dog, Ruff Ruffman, who hosts a game show. There are six contestants each season, and every episode has some of them going on challenges. The episode Delia's watching right now has one kid visiting an elephant sanctuary and learning how to feed and care for elephants. Two other kids have gone to a place where they're learning how to fly. There's a huge fan under the mesh floor that provides enough lift that a person who's positioned right will rise high into the air. All the challenges are educational for both the contestants and the audience.
I wish these two shows were available on DVD. I think episodes of Fetch can be purchased through Amazon, but that's digital. Delia wouldn't be able to stick them in the player and go on. She'd need a device to watch them and to store them.
Beyond those two shows, we have six episodes of Sit and Be Fit. We record that every day, just in case I can't be there right when it starts or want to play an episode on the weekend. There are a bunch of shows we record, watch pretty much immediately and then delete. We can't catch anything that starts at eight due to getting Delia ready for bed, and we're consistently late for things that start at nine due to the same. Delia also records a lot of stuff, Disney sitcoms and Nickelodeon game shows and an occasional episode of Wipeout. She tends to keep the sitcoms until I prompt her to clear things out, but she's good about deleting the game shows.
