I can't make long posts on my phone because the box for posting won't scroll or expand reliably. I end up trying to type with other text over my words. I have things I want to post about, but I don't know when I will. Ah, well. Books, DVDs, and tidying...

Can you screenshot the issue on your phone and (at some point when it's convenient for you) upload the images somewhere so as to link them from a Dreamwidth support request about this issue? I'm sure it's a known issue, but I'm hoping the more people who report concerns, the quicker DW devs will get on making the site more mobile-friendly. :)

Best luck tidying.

When I've had similar issues on my phone, sometimes I've been able to open a text editor, such as Google Docs, and type a long thing there, and then cut-and-paste it from there into the small text box.

I don't know if that would work for the particular gadgets and text boxes that you have, but maybe! :)

I looked on my phone (which runs Android). If I go to Google Drive, there is a blue circle with a + at the bottom corner of the screen, which I can use to create a new document. If I go to Google Docs, there is a red circle with a + in the same place.

Are these apps up-to-date on your phone? I do think I remember previous versions where there was no obvious way to add a document, which was thoroughly baffling. :-S

I'm not sure how it works on Apple phones, but if it's an Android phone, the steps are:

1) Leave your finger sitting on a word in the part that you want to highlight.
2) The word should get highlighted, with a teardrop-shaped blob hanging down before it and another one after it.
3) You can put your finger on each of the blobs and drag it to expand what is highlighted.
4) There should be a menu of slightly baffling icons, including "copy" and "cut." Tap on the one that you want to do.
5) Switch to where you want to paste. Put your finger where you want to paste the text and leave it in that spot until a menu appears.
6) Choose "paste" from that menu.

Several of these steps do take some fine motor control, so I don't know if this would work for you.

Different Android programs seem to handle cut and paste differently, so the steps vary from program to program, and some don't seem to offer it at all. :-S
