Jun. 8th, 2015 01:28 pmI definitely have Scott's cold. It's not horribly bad yet, and I'm still hoping it won't get there. Mainly, right now, it's a sore throat and a little bit of congestion. I don't have the impression that Cordelia got much sicker than I am now, so I have a chance. I get a lot more sleep than Scott does, and that will probably help.
I ended up sleeping in until about 10:30 this morning. I didn't intend to as I've got things I need to so today, but I did. I expect I needed it.
I did no writing or link finding yesterday which means I urgently need to do both today. I just don't see how I can do both. The link finding has a closer deadline, but I'm more interested in the writing. I do have a plot point that I need to resolve but that I have no idea how to research given the size of the canon I'm working with-- If it's come up at all, it's been a minor thing that I've forgotten entirely, and it could come in anywhere at all. I suppose I should check the wiki, but I'm not sure what terms to use to find the information (or if it would be there at all). I do have to go there anyway to check the spelling of a particular character's name, so I can do both at once.
When Scott and Cordelia went to the library, Scott asked me if he could bring anything back for me. I asked for something that would help my throat, so he got soup from Zoup. That was my second lunch, so I ended up eating a good bit more yesterday than I would normally.
The downtown library is still closed, so we didn't get bubble tea. It just doesn't make sense to to do it when they go to Traverwood because that's in the opposite direction. I do really miss bubble tea, however, and wish there was a way for me to get some easily.
I need to shower, but I've put it off long enough that I have to wait until after Scott calls me on his afternoon break. That could happen any time now, and I know, if I get in the shower now, my phone will ring the moment I have soap in my hair. Of course, if I wait, he won't call at all, and I'll still be in my nightgown and stinky when Cordelia gets home from school. I should also have lunch, but given that I didn't eat breakfast until two and a half hours ago, it feels way too early for that.
Because I intended to shower soon, I didn't put on my ankle brace when I got up this morning. It's very unpleasant to wear without a sock, and I don't like putting back on socks I've already worn after I shower. It's a thing. My ankle is twinging now because I've been up and down about four times as much as I expected. My own fault really.
Cordelia has decided that she doesn't actually like Cassandra Clare's books after all. She says the endings are excellent but that everything leading up to them is really boring. Not having read the books in question, I have no opinion, but I don't think it will be a bad thing for her to move on to other books. Life's way too short to keep reading things one isn't enjoying.
